Trade and Business Development

The Council meets in the Trade and Business Development Sector to make decisions on policies and actions to be implemented by InterTradeIreland.

Functions/Objectives

InterTradeIreland exercises a valuable range of functions in the trade and business sector. Under the overall policy direction of the NSMC, InterTradeIreland works in close collaboration with the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland, the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment in Ireland, and with the existing development agencies, North and South. It has a focus on promoting North South trade and business co-operation by building enterprise capability, competitiveness and developing networks. InterTradeIreland aims to add value to the work being carried out by the existing trade and business development agencies. InterTradeIreland offers practical advice, support and information to businesses via its Trade Hub.

InterTradeIreland's headquaters is located in Newry. The Board of InterTradeIreland is chaired by Mr Richard Kennedy. The Chief Executive Officer of InterTradeIreland is Margaret Hearty.
